I'm feeling better, signed on with a local doctor and the pills seem to have worked. Seems every other time I get a cold, I get a chest infection thrown in for free.
Still technically homeless. Have a roof over my head, many thanks to someone who may wish to remain anonymous, so I'll disguise his name in a cunning anagram, Mej.
Went to the solicitors yesterday with contract and other paper work signed, plus a big fat 10% deposit cheque. Still waiting for building society to say "yes" or "no" regarding one thing, and should be good to go. Then it's just the small matter of gathering up my possessions from the four different locations they have been scattered to.
I can't believe how stressful the last few months have been. The whole selling the flat thing dragged on and on, with broken promises of exchanging contracts coming every week. Then at the last moment it all looked like falling through. I retrospect those last few months in the flat were the halcyon days compared to the tits up shambles that kicked off last week. Things got a little complicated and considering my stress levels removing I think I've been handling it all fairly well.
There's a rough idea of an exchange date but not getting my hopes up, because my experience of these things is some bugger's gonna throw a spanner in the works at any moment and everything will grind to a halt... But just this once it would be very nice if they kept the monkey-wrench in the toolbox... because I can feel the end of the tether coming.
